PARIS! What an epic place to visit and plan for, right? Yes…but you won’t need a passport to visit the Paris I’m talking about. Paris, Tennessee, folks. I’ve been to Paris a few times for work and it’s near Murray, KY where I went to college. It’s a cute small town, so it’s worth a visit if you are in the area.

First on the list of things to do in Paris: visit the quaint downtown square. There are some really cute shops plus Jack’s Java – the local coffee shop. Outside of the square, there’s also a peddler’s mall and consignment stores to visit.

After shopping, you can go for the perfect photo op with the Eiffel Tower in Eiffel Tower Park. Next – stop at the Paris Winery. You can do a free tasting there and get lunch at the restaurant on site. For dessert, stop by Sally Lane’s Candy Farm. This little gem was such a fun stop – they have every kind of chocolate you could want.

If you’re looking for local restaurants during your stay, try any of these:
Southside Café – southern food / meat & 3
Take Me Back Café – southern food / meat & 3
Sweet Jordan’s – soup, sandwiches, cookies & ice cream
Prater’s Taters – variety of baked potato options, salads & soups
Trollinger’s – deli & BBQ plates (this is located in the back of a gas station but it seemed like all the locals go here for lunch – really good & really popular!)

Paris also is apparently is known for the “largest catfish fry”, as noted by the giant catfish sign coming into town. Other options while you’re in Paris include driving to Murray or to Kentucky Lake. If you are staying overnight, there aren’t a ton of hotel or Airbnb options in Paris. We stayed in Home Sweet Home BNB and at Mammy and Pappy’s BNB – both were great with really sweet hosts.

So, if you happen to be passing nearby, make a stop and visit some of these places. Au revoir!
